Councillor Nolan was re-elected to Newbridge Town Council and Kildare County Council in June 2009.

Micheal 'Spike' Nolan Jnr is a son of the former councillor, Michael 'Spike' Nolan and has a strong GAA background with the Sarsfields Club. He is married to Deirdre and they have three children. He works as a sales representative.

"My aim is to be a voice for the people, especially on issues such as planning, development and health, as well as concerns that many residents have about the environment and traffic.

"As a Fine Gael representative in the Newbridge area, I believe it is very important to keep you up to date with the issues Fine Gael sees as crucial to Newbridge.

My priorities for Newbridge:

Fine Gael wants to end overcrowding in Newbridge primary schools. We have called for two new primary schools immediately.

We want protection and development of the banks of the Liffey for community leisure and recreational facilities.

Fine Gael wants to see a stronger Garda presence on our streets and strong regulation of management companies.
